Membership

To be a member of HKRCSS only requires your own devotion to the sport of r/c soaring. Age, race, and gender are not the excuses for refusing your membership application. We welcome you all with interests in this fascinating hobby. Our list of members consists of enthusiastic pilots from all walks of life, their common goal is to make this sport even more exciting. Being a member you will enjoy privilege on sponsored activities, discounts in participating in competitions and social functions. You may download the membership application form, fill in the form and send it to one of our office bearers. You should often see them in the flying site during weekend.

The annual membership fee for the current year is HK$150. In the AGM held at Jan, 2002, a decision was made that each member must have a valid insurance coverage for r/c model flying. He/She can arrange the insurance policy by himself/herself or HKRCSS has arranged with Blue Cross Insurance Company to provide the coverage for our members. The insured members will be listed in a master plan. The basic term is as follows; annual premium HK$220, three million Hong Kong dollar third part damage coverage with HK$3,000 deducible. The coverage is for model flying activities within the territory of Hong Kong. Please see a summarized terms for this insurance in here. So if you would like to join HKRCSS together with the insurance coverage provided by Blue Cross, please deposit the membership fee and premium to the club account in Hang Seng Bank under the name "The Hong Kong Radio Control Soaring Society" (account # 359-136991-001) and email a notification together with the application form to our Treasurer, Winna Ng at winnang.nwl@gmail.com, or you can write a cheque in the name of our account and send it to one of our office bearers on the flying site.

Membership arrangement starting from the year of 2015

Membership and insurance issues are handled four times a year. The paid fee will also be varied. Due to the annual membership fee and insurance premium covered the period from 1st July to end June of next year, the handling period will be started in June.

• The first handling period will be on June, all members renewal and the freshly joined new members has to pay HK$370 (in which HK$150 is the membership fee for period from 1st July to 30th June of next year, HK$220 is the insurance premium for period from 1st July to 30th June of next year).
• The second handling period will be on September, all members renewal and the freshly joined new members has to pay HK$370 (in which HK$150 is the membership fee for period from 1st October to 30th June of next year, HK$220 is the insurance premium for period from 1st October to 30th June of next year).
• The third handling period will be falling around the Annual General Meeting (AGM) period, all members renewal and the freshly joined new members has to pay HK$185 (in which HK$75 is the membership fee for period since his membership become effective to 30th June, HK$110 is the insurance premium for period from one week after the AGM to 30th June).
• The forth handling period will be on March, all members renewal and the freshly joined new members has to pay HK$185 (in which HK$75 is the membership fee for period from 1st April to 30th June, HK$110 is the insurance premium for period from 1st April to 30th June).

Since all new members have to submit an application form together with two endorsement signatures from existing members, which takes time to do the verification. Thus, please submit the application form at least few days before the deadlines.
