Hand launch Glider Practice
5 April, 2008

The hand launch glider activity in Hong Kong is reactivated with the support of the Leisure and Culture Services Department. On 5 April 2008, 10 pilots gathered at the grass pitch of the Po Tsui Park at Tsang Kwan to demonstrate the charisma of the radio controlled DLG and their skill and enthusiasm.

The flying area is the grass pitches which is used for playing football. It is the largest government grass pitch at eastern Kowloon. The flying session was from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm while the weather was sunny. All pilots enjoyed a very relaxing and cheerful morning. Ah Kin showed off his superb launching power and soaring skill in flying within small thermal bubble. See the movie for his out-launching others and staying long in the air.

We are looking forward for more cooperation with the LCSD in exploring the DLG activity shortly. Please be reminded that the coming activity will be held on 20 April 2008. Please check out our activity column.

Below are the photos and short movies captured that day.
