Glider Duration Contest

A
bungee and handlaunch glider duration contest was
organized by HKRCSS on
Sunday, 28 March
2004.
The
contest venue is Sham Chung
in Sai Kung West Country Park. A total of 23
participants took
part in the boat-ride trip to Sham
Chung.
The competition was started at 10:45am with 17 contestants. The
handlaunch duration contest was held in
the morning and the bungee launch contest in the afternoon. The weather was fine and cloudy. This
may not be the best day for thermal soaring, however, we did
have a day of good fun. There
were 4 pilots in each round
of contest. Seven rounds of handlaunch
contest were successfully completed
before lunch. The winner is Gallant
with a score of 5,988.
He won 4
rounds
out of 7 and hold the longest duration record of . Congratulation!
Three
rounds of bungee launch contest were completed. The winner is Stanley
Chan. Believe it or not the longest duration in bungee contest is 12
minutes and 23 seconds! Well, did we cheat by exploring the slope lift?
Anyway, it is a HK record by Gallant. Congratulation! The
organizer would like to thank Windrider Aviation Co. for

did so well that it always was the last to stay airborne
