Electric Glider Duration and Spot Landing Contest
14, December 2003

The Hong Kong Radio Control Soaring Society organized an electric glider duration and spot landing contest  on Sunday, 14 December, 2003. The venue of the contest is Sham Chung which is within Sai Kung West Country Park and near Tolo Harbour. A total of 27 participants gathered in Sam Pui Chau early in the morning and took a boat trip to Sham Chung. We arrived in Sham Chung at 10:45am. The competition was started at 11:30am after the inspection of all the electric gliders participated in the contest. The contest attracted some top electric glider pilots with their powerful machines. Totally 17 pilots joined the contest. Stanley was eliminated before the contest was started when his E-Banana fell into water during practice! What's a disappointment for him after weeks of preparation! The unlucky Fat Fai followed after his Triffik plunged into ground after launched in the first round. The contest was really tense. 40 second of motor driving period seems to be long but actually the longest airborne duration of the day  is only 7'07"! Finally, due to very tight time schedule, only 4 rounds of contest were held. The winner of the day is Y.C. Lui, congratulation! Y.C got the highest mark in spot landing - a golden ten! Well done!  What a wonderful day! HKRCSS wish to thank the sponsors Windrider Aviation Co. and Waigo Model.
