The Hong Kong Radio Control Soaring Society has organized a F3F slope race for EPP gliders on Sunday, 10 May 2009. This is the first time such a F3F race was organized entirely for EPP gliders. In order to attract more pilots from getting interest in F3F, we organized such a EPP glider F3F contest in Clearwater Bay. However, only a total of 13 pilots were interested in, some already full 3m F3F pilots. Anyway, the contest was started at about 12:30pm with wind speed of about 5 m/s. Due to the nature of F3F, the slope has to be occupied for the duration of the pilot's run, that would create some uneasy to other pilots flying model gliders there with no interest in joining F3F, so the organizer decided to call off the competition at 3:30pm with only 5 rounds of contest were conducted. Unlike the conventional F3F models, there are obviously two distinct classes of EPP gliders; one class (Bat) is much faster than the other (Bee). So here come the winners who competed with their fast Bats: Eric, who has a cleanly built Bat, did very well in the contest, and won the champion title. Next on the line was Ah Pong. His two-leg Bat wais a bit old comparatively. The 2nd runner-up went to Lee Man who did very well instead because he used a slower Beevolution. The speedy man title also went to Eric with the fastest time of the day at 65.77 second.. Congratulation to the winners!
