Man-On-Man Race in Fei Ngo Shan
24 August, 2008

The Hong Kong Radio Control Soaring Society organized a Man-On-Man race on Sunday,  24 August 2008. This is the first time we hold a MoM contest after a break of almost five years. The venue is in the southwest-facing slope in Fei Ngo Shan. Two classes of races were scheduled, a 60" conventional class in the morning and a 48" foamy class in the afternoon. The decision to restart the MoM activities was made only two months ago, so we need to build the MoM signal system in a short period of time. A quick solution is to make a light box rather than very complicated automatic scoring system with wireless links. Thanks to the efforts of Ah Pong and Stanley for making a workable light box in a short period of time. The system worked perfectly in this event. In addition we need to thank for all the helpers and workers on the slope to make this wonderful event a success. HKRCSS would thank and acknowledge the generous sponsorship from Windrider R.S.B. Aviation Co. Ltd. for this event.  Here are a short report on the races:

A total of 7 pilots participated in the 60" moldy class MoM race.  A race matrix of 7 competitors were derived. Congratulation to the winner, Ah Pong! Here are the results:

After a fierce contest, there are two top scorers, Lee Man and Uncle Chan, then an extra contest for these two pilots was conducted. Lee Man had a very accurate timed start and took the lead all the way to grab the champion title. Congratulation! Here are the results:

Ready to start the race! Ah Cho seems to be so desire to kill, while lee man looks on with confident. But, Ah Kin seems doesn't have such desire to win!

Thank you for our Base B signaling judges

C.M. was eager to show how good his brand new EPP is

Lee Man said "It's nothing if compared to my flying machine"

Ah Cho and 3rd Brother were not sure about the tactic to win while Ken28 was so eager to win, but he got a few DNFs as a result of so many cuts

Uncle Chan said "Take it easy, I will show you how to fly"

Who will be the owner of this beautiful trophy?

The champion of the 60" moldy class is Ah Pong. Was he lucky because of the unexpected clashes of his rival teammates, Ah Mak and Stanley?

Smile! Have a group photo for the 60" MoM diehards

The champion of the 48" formie class is Lee Man. He would be truely inconvincible if he was not obstructed by other fellows that resulted in clash with a DNF.

Have a group photo for the two champions, cheers!
