Ma On Shan F3F Slope Race and BBQ Night
16 November, 2003

A F3F competition was held in Ma On Shan east-facing slope on Sunday, 16 November 2003. The weather was fine with moderate northeasterly wind with average wind speed of 10km/hr. Although the wind is not normal to the slope, it is still flyable most of the time. Totally 21 pilots took part in the race which was started at 12:00pm and ended at 5:00pm. Due to the momentary northerly wind direction, the slope is marginally flyable. The competition was on hold for about one hour after two rounds of competition. At about 3:30pm the wind started to pick up again and the direction changed favorably to northeast. Finally, four rounds of races were completed. The best time is 65.81s by So Kwok Ying. The winner of the day competition is Stanley Chan,  congratulation! HKRCSS would like to thank the sponsors including AMD and Eddie.  Here are the detailed scores of the race:

A group photo for the competitors and their families

The champion of the day Stanley (right) received a prize

The first runner-up Ah Wai (left)  got a big prize

Master Fai is the second runner-up, but without the permission from his wife, he can not stay for the BBQ, so Chester represented him to collect the prize from the sponsor, Eddy

Despite of winning a title of the worse pick up of the day and a four place in the competition, Mak (left) has no prize! What's a poor guy!

Fellow pilots were discussing the result in the score sheet. Sure, it is a fair competition of skill, luck and of course the sailplane

Come on Master Leung, whenever there is food, you are the first one to be there.

Enjoy the good BBQ food after a day hiking, cheers!

Stephen is the chief cook of the night.
