EPP Slope Combat - August 7, 2011

The sky is getting hot again! The first slope combat in 2011 was successfully held in Fei Ng Shan SW slope on August 7 of 2011. The weather was fine with weak 2~3m/s South-westerly blowing. There were 9 pilots回且 participated in the contest. The game started at 3:15pm and ended at 3:45pm. Champion is Uncle Chan. 1st runner up and 2nd runner up are Yip and Third brother. Congratuations to the winners !

Unlike the combat games before, this time we tried a new set of rules. Simply said, it is an one on one game instead of group combat. Only two pilots fights each other in each round. Winners proceed to the next stage until the last one left which is the winner. Compare to the old rules, there are many advantages. First of all, only one marker is needed. In the old combat games we need a lot of markers to take record of the score of each pilots. It is usually not easy to find so many people to help. Secondly, as there is only one opponent in the sky, skill and tactics counts but not luck. Thirdly, it is also more appeal to the audience as they can concentrate on two aicrafts only. The difficulty of the new rules is to set up the matrix of each round. 2^n players are desirable but it is usually not the case. We need to refine the rules for setting up the matrix.
