Slope Combat
Contest 19 October,
2003 | |
The Hong Kong Radio Control Soaring Society held its third
slope combat contest on Sunday, October 19, 2003 in Clearwater Bay
east-facing slope. There were 26 pilots participating in the competition
together with many spectators. The competitors were split into two groups
with four rounds of combat. Each pilot has at least two rounds of combat.
The wind was co-operative with speed averaged at 15 knots - good for
combating! After two rounds of intensive 'killing', 13 pilots with
the highest scores promoted to the final race. Two rounds in the final
race were carried out. The winners are Chan Kin Sang for the champion, Lee
Chung Ming for the first runner up and Jacky Lo for the second runner up.
Congratulation! Each winner has both a beautiful trophy and a prize. Thank
you all for your supports and particularly to our sponsors; Windrider
R.S.B. Aviation Co. Ltd., Radar Co. Ltd., Waigo Model. |

Lets be friends to have a group photo before "killing" each
other
|
Three beautiful trophies awaiting you to grab
|
Combat is in progress, see the tense atmosphere!
|
Fly closer to each other to maximize the number of
hits!
|
Our two young combatants were interviewed by the reporter
from Apply Daily Newspaper
|
Why Ah Sang is combating "alone" away from the group?
You'll see the tactic really pay off!
|
The champion today, Ah Sang (left), receives a prize
sponsored by Waigo Model. The reason why he was combating away from the
group - more concentration on hitting the targets!
|
The first runner up Lee Chung Ming (left) receives a prize
sponsored by Radar Co.
|
The second runner up Jacky Lo (left) receives his prize - a
Bat from Windrider. Jacky said "I got the first runner up last year, this
year I got only the second runner up. How about next year?"
|
The fourth place Ricky (left) actually got the same score
as Jacky but lose the position only because of the lower grand total
score! Keep up with the combat spirit!
|
The booby prize went to Ah Mok (left). If you can remember,
he got a booby prize two years ago. I wonder what tactic he has in
combating - to be hit and then suicide?.

The three winners show off their trophies and prizes
|
Reporters from two local newspapers were impressed with the
way we do combating and the skills our winners have!
|
Have a group photo after the combat, Cheers and see you
next year!
