F3F Slope Race in
Clearwater Bay

A F3F slope was originally scheduled to be held in Fei Ngo
Shan east-facing slope on Sunday, 2 March 2003 but was re-located to
Clearwater Bay due to heavy fog on the mountain top. This is the first
time an F3F race was ever run in the populous Clearwater Bay east-facing
slope. The difficulty to hold a competition in Clearwater Bay of course is
the limited air space available and also there are too many other slope
flyers around. Anyway, the race was a success and we would like to thank
the enthusiastic helpers and r/c soarers for their supports. Here is a
short report: The weather was generally fine with moderate easterly
wind of average speed of 15km/hr. Totally 19 pilots took part in the race
which was started at 12:30pm and ended at 5:15pm. Five rounds of races
were completed. The best time is 61.81s by K.Y. Mak who also won the race,
congratulation! However, due to a high accident rate, some pilots can
not finish all rounds, what's a pity! HKRCSS would like to thank the
