On Tuesday, 2 June 2026, at 10:00am, HKRCSS arranged a glider flight experience activity for students from International College Hong Kong (Sha Tau Kok) at the southwest wind flying site at Kowloon Peak（飛鵝山）.

On the day, 4 teachers and 19 students took part in the activity. A total of 10 glider instructors were present to assist and provide guidance. The activity was well arranged, and every student had the opportunity to experience the enjoyment of flying.

Before the flying session began, the instructors first introduced the basic principles of glider flight to the students. This helped them understand how gliders use wind, lift, and control surfaces to fly, and also deepened their interest in aviation and the enjoyment of flying. To support the teaching and demonstration, HKRCSS prepared three remote-controlled aircraft named “Surfer” for instructional use, allowing the students to better understand aircraft operation and the flying process.

The weather conditions on the day were generally good. The early part of the activity was relatively cool and suitable for outdoor activities. Later, the sun came out and the weather gradually became warmer. There was a south-westerly wind with moderate wind speed, and the activity was able to proceed smoothly.

Under the guidance and assistance of the instructors, the students took turns participating in the flight experience. The instructors patiently explained and assisted the students throughout the process, allowing them to take part safely and experience the excitement of glider flying. With sufficient instructors supporting the activity, the overall arrangement was smooth, and every student was able to enjoy the flying experience.

The activity was successfully completed at 12:45pm. Overall, the flight experience activity was carried out safely and smoothly. Through the activity, the students not only learned about the basic principles of glider flight, but also had the opportunity to personally experience the enjoyment of flying. We would like to thank the teachers and students from International College Hong Kong (Sha Tau Kok), as well as all the glider instructors, for their participation and support, which contributed to the success of the activity.
